My name is representative of the mythical bird that is known for its ability to renew its own life. In a burst of flame and smoke, it perishes, only to be reborn in time as a better version of itself.
This is precisely what I have chosen to do. As my fourth year of professional tattooing rapidly approaches, I wanted to start emerging from the flames as an artist that is more authentic to what I feel I am.
My journey into tattooing began with a keen eye for the spiritual and the unseen.

It feels like a lifetime ago now, but before I began to learn how to infuse the skin with ink, I spent my days painting fairies.
Fairies, dragons, gnomes, mermaids--- creatures that have found home in folklore and legend across the world.
Like many things that are near and dear to the self--- I kept this hidden away. I had my spirituality and fantastical mindset take a backseat once my dream career started.
I was afraid. Afraid of what my clients would think of a girl who still believed in fairies. Afraid of showing the world the art I really found passion in. I kept it hidden, and kept it safe.
But that is no way to live life. In fact, we only have one life in this world. And that is why I have begun my journey to spread my wings.
I feel as though I am starting my career over again, in a sense. Taking the first step forward, though I have already taken many thousands.
My name is Phoenix Taylor, and I am a fantastical tattoo artist. I hope to share my vision with you, and many others, along my path in this world.
